SFC supports the Student Statement on The Right to Research
June 10th, 2009 by Kevin DriscollSPARC (the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition) issued a statement today urging students and other members of the academic community to support Open Access to research:
Learning and inquiry are impeded when scholars lack access to fellow researchers’ work, and when students lack access to the work of scholars before them.
The full text of the statement is available at www.righttoresearch.org and will serve as a terrific starting point for discussions of Open Access issues. Forward it to your chapter members and bring it up at the next meeting. Use it in conversation with faculty at your school.
Of all the work we’re engaged with on our campuses, Open Access to research may be our nearest victory. Keep the momentum going!

Hey guys, sorry to post this over here but i am not sure what is working and what is not on your website. Majority of the college links on the right hand side (for me, facing the screen)are kaput at this point.
Here is my question, I am a grad student at Antioch University LA and would like to promote the cause yet I am a bit hesitant to circulate a web address with many broken links. Can I get an update as to your status in terms of what is happening with the movement and why the website is not up to par? When will it have all working links? A current list of colleges that are networked, may I request?
Thanks a million. I think this is a great cause and I would love to bring it to everyone’s attention!

It wasn’t just happening in Florida, and it wasn’t just fraudulent Medicare expense reports. Around the country, dozens of whistle-blowers like Schilling stepped forward to file lawsuits under the False Claims Act, charging the company with sundry forms of chicanery: kickbacks to doctors in exchange for referrals, illegal deals with homecare agencies and filing false data about the use of hospital space.
