I agree that by-sa is a much better license than the GFDL (for many reasons), however, until you are sure what you want to do, why not just put contributions into the public domain? You can always go from public domain to a creative commons (or any other) license, but not vice-versa.

Also, I'm assuming that you guys are aware that on the page I'm typing this into is says edit page where it says "Please note that all contributions to are considered to be released under the GNU Free Documentation License".

Also, FYI, I was speaking with the webmaster over at and he mentioned that ver. 2.0 of the by-sa license is coming out real soon. I don't know what's going to be on it, but you might want to wait for that. If you go to you can see that they plan on a version 2.0

I think this is a really cool idea you've got going on over here. I can't wait to see this project take off.
